Tower shield I made. After doing the Bulwark of Azzinoth, I quite liked the idea of tower shields. For me, although they are not the most iconic, Tower shields are certainly the coolest. 

 

Tower shields were used most famously by the Romans during their Turtle Formations. The romans would group up, then position their shields in such a way that they were impenetrable by arrow fire. Then, they would return fire with their Pilas (javelins) while the enemies were reloading.

 

Ultimately, tower shields offer greater protections than "standard" shields, at the cost of mobility for the soldier and maneuverability of the shield.
